Overview
Get ready to spend a few days in Kruger exploring this majestic National Park, get closer to the wildlife, and get a chance to spot “The Big Five” in Kruger National Park. Kruger National Park is one the biggest reserves in Africa its high density of wildlife makes it one of the most exciting safari destinations. Drive through the Panorama Route which is one of the best scenic drives in South Africa and explore the greenest canyon in the world, while you are chasing waterfalls.
Pick Up point
You’ll be collected from the airport or your hotel
Day 1: Drive to Kruger National Park
You’ll be picked up at 7:00 am from your hotel or any your location of your choice in Johannesburg. Then drive to Kruger National Park.
Please note it takes 5 hours to drive from Johannesburg to Mpumalanga, however, there will be pit stops to stretch your legs and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
The estimated time of arrival at Protea Hotel Kruger Gate is at noon.
Have lunch, and enjoy an afternoon at the pool.
Enjoy a sunset game drive in Kruger National Park. Predators are more active in the evening, and an evening game drive increases your chances of spotting “the big 5” watch the animals at the time they are the most active, hippos come out of the water to graze, and you might get lucky and see lions hunt or cheetah dragging its prey.
After the game drive, we go back to the lodge.
Day 2: A Full Days Kruger Safari Experience in the National Park
A full-day game drive in Kruger National Park starting at 5:00 am.
Enjoy an early morning game drive to spot lions, leopards, elephants, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, different kinds of antelopes and many more and the beautiful view of an African sunrise.
Have breakfast inside Kruger National Park at one of the rest camps in Kruger. Then continue with the game drive.
Have lunch at Skukuza Rest Camp from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Then enjoy an afternoon game drive till sunset this is a perfect chance to watch animals come to the waterhole, hippos getting out of the water to graze, and elephants coming to drink water and cool off the bodies in mud. Enjoy watching the African sunset.
Get back to the hotel at 4:30 pm.
Enjoy some drinks at the pool and have dinner at 6:30 pm.
See you tomorrow morning.
Day 3: Explore the Panorama Route
Have breakfast at 8:00 am and check out at Protea Hotel at 10:00 am.
The Panorama Route is situated on the greenest canyon in the world and the 3rd biggest canyon in the world, with the most scenic views the Panorama route includes sightseeing, hiking is definitely a tour for nature lovers.
This is a full day tour driving through Panorama Route. Your first stop will be Graskop Gorge Lift. Then visit God’s Window, Lisbon and Berlin Waterfalls, burke Luck Potholes, and 3 Rondavels.
Day 4: Boat Cruise in the Blyde River Canyon
Have breakfast at 8:00 am and check out at 9:00 am.
Enjoy 90 minutes boat cruise in the Blyde River Canyon. Learn more about the natural history of one of the greenest canyons in the world and one of the largest canyons, watch hippos at a close range and spot crocodiles and a wide variety of wildlife. See the Kadishi Tufa waterfalls and the magnificent view of the Three Rondavels.
There is an option to swap the boat cruise and have a morning safari drive in Kruger National Park.
Start driving back to Johannesburg at 12 midday.
Stop in Dullstroom for lunch and explore Dullstroom.
The estimated time of arrival in Johannesburg is 5:30 pm.
End of the road trip.
