Being a tour guide has it’s own challenges just like any other job.Working with people and making sure that their vacation is the most memorable can be very overwhelming. I would hate it to be remembered as the grumpy tour guide who rushed through everything. I see different people from different countries, different cultures and background every day and that can be overwhelming sometimes. However my passion for my job makes my job feel like it’s not a job at all. Being a tour guide fulfills my purpose of connecting with people, having great conversations and by the end of the day we have all learnt something that just fulfills me.
One of my personal attributes is that I am really good with people, I am a great listener, I love my history and knowing other people’s history has shaped us to be what we are today. There is an African proverb that says “A person without history is like a zebra without stripes”. A zebra without its stripeS no one would stop and take notice-if you are a tourist you wouldn’t take a picture of it, right? At the end of the tour I can guarantee you that you would wish I was either your friend, your daughter, sister or I would be just someone who you found to be so interesting.
However, most importantly I am here to make sure you will have great memories about Africa. With that said, I know I can’t make everyone happy or smile however if you have any special requests or if there is anything we could do for you during the tour to make your tour special and memorable please feel free to let us know.
